The sight of Durfee Hill from Ponaganset Reservoir is pretty, and if you like swamps you're in luck, Dark Swamp is right close by. Having a good time at Ponaganset Reservoir is uncomplicated. If you came for an overnight stay Oakleaf Family Campground is a great spot to camp; Americas Best Value       Inn/North Scituate is a fine site to get some rest. All the outdoors enjoyable things in close proximity to Ponaganset Reservoir will keep you coming back time and again. Lakes? Sure, Ponaganset Reservoir is close at hand, and if you need a location to stay Comfort Inn & Suites Dayville is a tremendous choice. High temperatures at Ponaganset Reservoir during the months of summer are in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. All through the wintertime                  highs are regularly in the 30's, and night lows through the wintertime for Ponaganset Reservoir tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Near Ponaganset Reservoir you find the Munyan Trail which is a perfect hiking trail, and at Ponaganset Reservoir Dam close to Ponaganset Reservoir there are some interesting things to see. The high level of rainfall makes Ponaganset Reservoir a relatively wet site; the wettest month of the year is regularly November, that's the one that rains the most, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Golf can be played at Crystal Lake Golf Club, and the Walkabout Trail is a perfect hiking trail nearby. Bowdish Lake Camping Area is a great local campground, and at Ponaganset Reservoir you always meet someone from Willimantic. Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor is a great local destination here at Ponaganset Reservoir; there are some perfect whitewater spots on Clear and Branch.
