This lake is so wonderful. On a good day at Ponaganset Reservoir you can take a hike along the Ross Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Econo Lodge Sutton. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. Swamps like Dark Swamp close       to Ponaganset Reservoir make for glorious places to stop at; after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Killingly (Dayville), Ct is a pleasant place to spend a night or two. Paddling on Quinebaug River is so much fun; Oakleaf Family Campground is a perfect local campground. Nearby lakes? Sure, Tepee Pond is in the vicinity of Ponaganset Reservoir; Ponaganset Reservoir is a fine site to visit for more than one day, Bowdish Lake Camping                  Area is a fine site to camp nearby. If the weather is glorious here at Ponaganset Reservoir, you can go for a hike along the Munyan Trail, and Crystal Lake Golf Club is a wonderful golf course nearby. For the duration of the long summer days highs here at Ponaganset Reservoir get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Ponaganset Reservoir dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. Visiting Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor is just something you need to do if you haven't yet, as expected you could also visit Ponaganset Reservoir since you're here; it's not far at all.
