The Walkabout Trail is a good hiking trail in the vicinity of Nichols Pond; Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor is a great location nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Holiday Acres Camping Resort is a great local campground, and a golf course close by is Country View Golf Club. If the weather is great here at Nichols Pond, you can go for a hike along the Ross Trail, and lots of folks from Providence-New       Bedford-Fall River come here. For the duration of the summertime months highs here at Nichols Pond get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Nichols Pond. Don't miss out on a wonderful swamp; Nipsachuck Swamp is right here at Nichols Pond, and close by you discover the Munyan Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail. Some                  of the water close by flows, like Mowry Paine Brook, and you can hit the beach if you want, Steers Beach is practically right here. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Suites Smithfield, and obviously, this is a good neighborhood for people who like lakes, Tarkiln Pond is a lake close by. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a glorious time here at Nichols Pond. Camp Ponagansett is a splendid campground nearby, and do put some time aside to spend at Boiling Spring if you're here at Nichols Pond. Nichols Pond gets a good deal of water; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily November, that's the one that rains the most while February is commonly the driest month. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Lake Bel Air, and there are some nice whitewater spots on Clear and Branch. This lake is so wonderful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Yawgoo Valley while you're here. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing things at Nichols Pond. You get a fine vista of Black Plain Hill from Nichols Pond, and you can always enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Spring Lake Beach.
