This lake is so wonderful. Glide down the rapids of Matunuck Shore Break in a kayak; there are swamps here too, Ambrose Swamp is around here. Barlows Point is relatively near Mitchell Pond, and Narragansett Inn is a delightful place to get some rest. Stay the night at Long Cove Camp Sites and Marina, and if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Clayhead Nature Trail.       Rodman Hollow is a glorious place to explore nearby. During the days of summer at Mitchell Pond temperatures are generally in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's with temperatures at Mitchell Pond dipping down into the 20's throughout winter nights. Dry warm beds await you at Rose Farm Inn.
