This lake is so wonderful. Colwell's Campground is a perfect local campground; you'll hit upon a pretty lake called Reynolds Pond. If you're a golfer then a glorious close by course is Coventry Pines Country Club; you'll in all probability meet some folks from       Providence-New Bedford-Fall River here. This lake is so wonderful. The Ross Trail is a good hiking trail close to Maple Root Pond, and you obtain a magnificent view of Hungry Hill from here. Camp Sunrise is a splendid campground nearby, and dry warm beds await you at Super 8 West Greenwich/Providence. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Clear and Branch, and don't forget to take a glorious little visit to Bear Brook. For the duration of the long summer days                  at Maple Root Pond highs are commonly in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Through the wintertime highs are usually in the 30's, and night lows at Maple Root Pond during the wintertime generally descend into the 10's. There is a great hiking trail in the neighborhood of Maple Root Pond called the Walkabout Trail, and Raymonds Point is very near and is a great spot to have a look at. All the water falling down from the sky makes Maple Root Pond a wet place; most of the rain falls through November; the driest of the months is February. And if that's not enough, there's heaps more to do in close proximity to Maple Root Pond. Going for a hike on the Narragansett Trail is always a good adventure, and a picturesque lake like Capwell Millpond is a good location to have a look at. If only every site had this much outdoors exciting stuff, what a great world it would be. Why not visit Flat River Reservoir Dam since you're here, and Best Western West Greenwich Inn is a good place to get some rest. If you come at the right time of year, Matunuck Shore Break offers some delightful whitewater, and a swamp like Bear Swamp in close proximity to Maple Root Pond has lots of interesting things to see.
