Go to Long Pond if you want to go to a nice lake. What a place this is for outdoors people. Very gorgeous scenery and magnificent skiing is what you get at Blue Hills, and a perfect beach close by is Edgewood Beach. This lake is so wonderful. What would winter be without some skiing at Yawgoo Valley, and camping at Long Pond is glorious fun, Holiday Acres Camping Resort is a glorious local campground. | | paradise. You can run the rapids of Clear and Branch near Long Pond, and if you need a place to stay Hilton Providence is a good choice. A round of golf at nearby Silver Spring Golf Course is a glorious way to kill some time; don't miss out on a tremendous swamp; Forestack Meadow is right here at Long Pond. A great close by hotel is The Hotel Providence, and if time allows, Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor is a national park worth taking | |

Pond; it's nearby; a day at Twin Rivers Beach is time well spent. The high level of rainfall makes Long Pond a relatively wet site; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain, and July on the other hand is
the driest. Through the long summer days highs here at Long Pond reach the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 30's with winter lows
in the 10's overnight here at Long Pond. Visit Mashapaug Brook while you're here at Long Pond; during your trip here you'll meet some folks from Providence-New Bedford-Fall River for sure. Long Pond is a splendid location to camp, Westwood Ymca is a splendid location, and if you're here, do take a tour to Cowpen Point.
