This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Whispering Pines Campground is a splendid spot to camp; a round of golf at nearby Fenner Hill Country Club is a good way to kill some time. Get your heart beating on the nice whitewater of Quinebaug River, and Ell Pond is a nearby lake that you could visit. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors La Quinta Inn       and Suites Stonington is a glorious place to spend a night or two, and why not camp at Greenwood Hill Family Camp Ground while you're here at Long Pond. Long Pond gets a great deal of water; most of the rain falls during November, and the driest of the months is February. What would winter be without some skiing at Yawgoo Valley, and the peak of Brightman Hill can be spotted from Long Pond. Take a side journey to Log House Brook, and Browning Mill Pond Area                  Beach is a pretty beach to take a look at. A wonderful location for whitewater paddling near Long Pond is Matunuck Shore Break. That right there is a load already, but it continues; Long Pond has it all. Budget Inn-Near Foxwoods is a perfect location to get some rest, and since you're here, you could also stop at lovely Wincheck Pond. High temperatures at Long Pond through the summertime are in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Long Pond.
