Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Long Pond; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Long Pond temperatures dip to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Matunuck Shore Break offers some great whitewater; don't leave Long       Pond without first going for a hike along the Clayhead Nature Trail. Long Pond sees pretty high levels of rainfall; November is the month that gets the most rain; June on the other hand is the driest. If the weather is delightful, you acquire a glorious panorama of Pawcatuck Rock from Long Pond, and Certain Draw Point is nearby and always fine to stop by. This lake is so wonderful. During your journey to Long Pond you'll meet some people from Norwich-New London                  for sure, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit close by Spring Pond. If you're here at Long Pond and you like golf, you can stop by Winnapaug Country Club, and one of the best things about this place is its proximity to Misquamicut State Beach. What a site this is for outdoors people. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the neighborhood of Long Pond. Go for a hike on the Narragansett Trail, and hey, Mastuxet Brook is a splendid local stream.
