And that's not all you can do here at Long Pond. Long Pond is not the only site close by, No Bottom Pond is a close by lake, and float down the rapids of Matunuck Shore Break in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Sandy Shore Motel and Apts is a magnificent choice, and from Long Pond you obtain a glorious panorama       of Pawcatuck Rock. Beaches are perfect; and Misquamicut State Beach near Long Pond is no exception; Long Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Ashaway RV Resort is a great local campground. A splendid beach near Long Pond is Misquamicut Fire District Beach, and a nice close by hotel is La Quinta Inn and Suites Stonington. This lake is so wonderful. A round of golf at nearby Winnapaug Country Club is a brilliant way to kill some time, and a lake                  close by is Spring Pond. Mastuxet Brook is one of the streams nearby that might be worth stopping at, and there is a brilliant hiking trail close by called the Clayhead Nature Trail. There's so much to do here at Long Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Timber Creek RV Resort is a nice place for that, and Long Pond is a place with many visitors from Norwich-New London. That right there is a lot already, but it goes on; Long Pond has it all. At Long Pond during the summer highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Long Pond.
