Get yourself into a kayak and hit Matunuck Shore Break; Gin Spring is always fun to check out. You'll stumble on a lovely lake called Indian Run Reservoir near Indian Lake; McSparran Hill is a peak you can see from Indian Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A pretty lake like Saugatucket Pond next to Indian Lake is a wonderful spot to check out, and a round of golf at nearby Rose Hill Golf Club is a great way to kill some time. | | Lake is painless; if you're here you must pop by Pettaquamscutt Cove. And if that's not enough, there's plenty more to do right next door to Indian Lake. One of the best things about Indian Lake is its proximity to Conochet Club Beach, and wonderful water scenery is available at Indian Lake Dam next to Indian Lake. This lake is so wonderful. is a good hiking trail close by. The high level of rain makes Indian Lake a pretty wet place; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain while February is ordinarily the driest month. Summer at Indian Lake
arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's. Through the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Indian Lake. Camping at Fisherman's
Memorial State Park is always a great experience, and dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn South Kingstown (Newport Area). Camping is available at Long Cove Camp Sites and Marina, and during your stay here do stop at nearby Dunes

 | 16 miles away Echo Lake is the best fishing lake in northern R.I. It has large mouth bass, pike, pickeral, and several varieties of pan fish. I have been fishing this lake for 45 years and it still produces some real fine fish....Echo is a nice pond. I go all the time and always catch something. The biggest i caught was a 6.5 pound large mouth on a watermelon colored lizard. Good place for bass....Pond is mostly made up of kivers and mabey a few striped bass nothing orn thsn 2.5 pounds. Takes about an hour, fish are extremly smart and picky. You are better off with brickyard which has fish up to 40 pounds and trout... |
