Why not go to Hopkins Mill Pond Dam if you're here; in case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Quinebaug River. There's great hiking along the
Walkabout Trail; you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Yawgoo Valley while you're here. But wait, there's more to do in the vicinity of Hopkins Mills Pond.
All the water falling down from the sky makes Hopkins
Mills Pond a wet location; through November this area sees the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor
is a tremendous national park, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Hopkins Mills Pond; Ross Trail is a tremendous local trail.
