What a nice lake Hawkins Pond is. While you're here at Hawkins Pond you will meet lots of folks from nearby Willimantic, and don't leave Hawkins Pond without first checking out Hemlock Ledges. A magnificent close by hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Killingly (Dayville), Ct; as expected, this is a pleasant region for folks who like lakes, Bowdish Reservoir is a lake nearby. | | Washington; going for a hike on the Munyan Trail is always a pleasant adventure. George Washington Memorial State Forest is a good local forest, and let's not forget Keach Brook which is a stream that you may stumble upon while here. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Quinebaug River; there is a fine hiking trail close by called the Border Trail. Through the summertime highs here at Hawkins Pond get into the 80's | |

while overnight lows are ordinarily in the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Hawkins Pond. This lake is so wonderful. From Hawkins Pond you get a good vista of Elmwood
Hill, and nearby you come across the Walkabout Trail which is a good hiking trail. This is no location for people who don’t like to have a good time. If time allows, Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor is
a national park worth stopping at, and Hawkins Pond Dam is a gorgeous place, undeniably worth a visit. If you adore the outdoors, you'll adore Hawkins Pond. After a long day outdoors The Inn at Woodstock Hill is a great location
to spend a night or two, and camping is available at Buck Hill Family Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Bowdish Lake Camping Area is always a perfect experience, and get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of
Clear and Branch. Hawkins Pond is a reasonably wet place generally with lots of precipitation; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain while February is mostly the driest month.
