You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors enjoyable stuff the area in the vicinity of Hawkins Pond has to offer. The peak of Cat Rocks can be seen from Hawkins Pond; glide down the rapids of Clear and Branch in a kayak. Why not camp at Holiday Acres Camping Resort if you're here at Hawkins Pond, and at Hawkins Pond Dam in the neighborhood of Hawkins Pond there are some interesting things to see. This lake       is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Comfort Suites Smithfield is a good place to spend a night or two, and the Ross Trail is a perfect hiking trail nearby. If time allows, Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor is a national park worth a visit, and a round of golf at nearby Melody Hill Country Club is a fine way to kill some time. The warmest time of the year at Hawkins Pond comes with high temperatures in the 80's; throughout summer nights                  temperatures are in the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 30's; nighttime lows through the wintertime for Hawkins Pond tend to be in the 10's. Hawkins Pond is a wet location that gets a good deal of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is November; the driest of the months is February. Camp Sunrise is a great local campground; there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Yawgoo Valley. And that's not all you can do here at Hawkins Pond. There is a good hiking trail close to Hawkins Pond called the Walkabout Trail; lakes are such peaceful spots, why not stop by Slack Reservoir.
