Don't forget to go to Apponaug Cove since you're here at Gorton Pond; Three Ponds is a nearby lake that you could go to. Here at Gorton Pond you'll probably meet some people from Providence-New Bedford-Fall River, and time                  spent at Goddard Memorial State Park Beach is always good. You need to visit Drum Rock since you're here at Gorton Pond; naturally Baker Creek flows through this vicinity. And that's not all you can do here at Gorton Pond. Really wonderful skiing awaits you at Yawgoo Valley, and on a pretty day you can pop by Buttonwoods Beach. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining things the area close to Gorton Pond has to offer. A good nearby hotel is Crowne Plaza Hotel Providence-Warwick (Arpt), Ri; if you come at the right time of year, Clear and Branch offers some pleasant whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. Summer at Gorton Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Gorton Pond. Gorton Pond sees pretty high levels of rainfall; November is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month is February.
