All through the days of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at Gates Pond while nighttime lows are regularly in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Gates Pond temperatures sink to the 10's. A journey to Browning Mill Pond Area Beach right next door to Gates Pond is always a wonderful idea; paddling on Matunuck Shore Break is so much fun. Gates Pond is a wet site that gets a good deal of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is mostly November, that's the one that rains the most, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful.
