is a wonderful site to spend a night or two; close by you stumble on Academy Cove. No need to travel far to stop by interesting stuff like Charles Rock; the slopes of Yawgoo Valley are so inviting nobody can resist. There's whitewater
on Matunuck Shore Break for all you adrenaline junkies; there are great places to look at along the Clayhead Nature Trail. Lakes are such calm places, why not visit Annaquatucket Mill Pond next to Duck Cove, and why not camp at Fisherman's
Memorial State Park while you're here at Duck Cove. If time allows, Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor is a national park worth visiting; if the weather is wonderful, you get a brilliant vista of Cocumcussoc from Duck
Cove. This lake is so wonderful. A great close by hotel is Budget Inn-N. Kingstown NR Newport, and if you came for an overnight stay Wawaloam Campground is a great location to camp. Duck Cove typically gets lots of rainfall; November
is when you get the most rain here, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like North Kingstown Municipal Golf Course, and you can hit the beach if you want, Plum Point Beach is practically right here.

Echo Lake
 | 11 miles away Echo is a nice pond. I go all the time and always catch something. The biggest i caught was a 6.5 pound large mouth on a watermelon colored lizard. Good place for bass....Pond is mostly made up of kivers and mabey a few striped bass nothing orn thsn 2.5 pounds. Takes about an hour, fish are extremly smart and picky. You are better off with brickyard which has fish up to 40 pounds and trout...Pond has very nice sized bass in it, they are biting all year, the only thing that stinks is the trolling motor only rule after memorial day weekend... |
