What a nice lake Deep Pond is. This lake is so wonderful. Golf can be played at Meadow Brook Golf Course, and you can hit the slopes at Yawgoo Valley in the neighborhood. You can see Dye Hill from Deep Pond, and if you have time, Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor is a national park worth taking a look at. This lake is so wonderful. Deep Pond gets a lot of water; November is when you get the most rain here while February is typically the driest month. Matunuck Shore Break is a brilliant whitewater spot near Deep Pond, and camping at Deep Pond is magnificent fun, Oak Embers Campground is a magnificent local campground.
At Deep Pond through the summer months highs are in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and night lows during the winter
for Deep Pond tend to be in the 10's. Be careful coming to Deep Pond, you might not ever want to go home again. You can run the rapids of Quinebaug River near Deep Pond, and Stagecoach House is a glorious spot to get some rest.
Near Deep Pond you hit upon the Border Trail which is a good hiking trail; you'll meet a lot of people from Willimantic here. Don't forget to take a delightful little spree to Log House Brook, and after a long day outdoors Budget Inn - North Stonington is a wonderful location to spend a night or two.
