If you like lakes and you're in this part of Rhode Island you can check out Carr Pond. Going for a hike on the Clayhead Nature Trail is always a good adventure, and of course Annaquatucket River is a delightful stream that is worth visiting. This lake is so wonderful. Why not check out Bissel Cove also since you're here, unsurprisingly you could also go to Wertz And Viall Pond while you're here; it's not far at all. If time allows, Blackstone River Valley National

| | Heritage Corridor is a national park worth going to; if you've had enough of Carr Pond, Mill Pond is nearby. A glorious vista of pretty Barber Heights is available from Carr Pond, and dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn South Kingstown (Newport Area). So much cool stuff close to Carr Pond, definitely extraordinary. Rock. Having a great time at Carr Pond is easy. People from Providence-New Bedford-Fall River love to come to Carr Pond, and Carr Pond Dam is not far at all from Carr Pond. Carr Pond sees pretty high levels of precipitation; of
all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. If you want to hit the beach, Plum Point Beach is nearby, and if you need a place to stay Budget Inn-N. Kingstown NR Newport
is a brilliant choice. This lake is so wonderful. You must beyond doubt visit picturesque Plum Beach if you're here at Carr Pond, and enjoy a round of golf at North Kingstown Municipal Golf Course. For the period of the summertime
months at Carr Pond highs are generally in the 80's; the night is fairly cooler of course, usually in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Carr Pond dipping down into the 10's during winter nights.
Yawgoo Valley is a good local ski area, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Matunuck Shore Break. There's so much to do here at Carr Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Fisherman's Memorial State Park is a glorious place for that.

 | 13 miles away Echo is a nice pond. I go all the time and always catch something. The biggest i caught was a 6.5 pound large mouth on a watermelon colored lizard. Good place for bass....Pond is mostly made up of kivers and mabey a few striped bass nothing orn thsn 2.5 pounds. Takes about an hour, fish are extremly smart and picky. You are better off with brickyard which has fish up to 40 pounds and trout...Pond has very nice sized bass in it, they are biting all year, the only thing that stinks is the trolling motor only rule after memorial day weekend... |
