Do stop by Almy Pond while you're in this part of Rhode Island. Brenton Cove is in the neighborhood and always fine to check out, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at nearby Boat House Gully. If time allows, Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor is a national park worth going to, and after a long day outdoors Harborside Inn is a great place to spend a night or two. NEWPORT ONSHORE RESORT is a great place to get some rest, and if you came for an overnight stay Meadowlark RV Park is a nice place to camp. The high level of rain makes Almy Pond a reasonably wet location; most of the rain falls through November; July meanwhile is the driest month. Any time is a nice time at Almy Pond if you fancy the outdoors.

Bedford-Fall River here, and not far from Almy Pond you'll find Lily Pond which is a picturesque lake. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Matunuck Shore Break, and for you golfers we recommend close by Jamestown Golf Course.

Echo is a nice pond. I go all the time and always catch something. The biggest i caught was a 6.5 pound large mouth on a watermelon colored lizard. Good place for bass....Pond is mostly made up of kivers and mabey a few striped bass nothing orn thsn 2.5 pounds. Takes about an hour, fish are extremly smart and picky. You are better off with brickyard which has fish up to 40 pounds and trout...Pond has very nice sized bass in it, they are biting all year, the only thing that stinks is the trolling motor only rule after memorial day weekend... |
