A visit to Lago Guayabal is always a good idea. Rio Toa Vaca is a stream that you may encounter while here, and if you're visiting from Ponce, you won't be the only one. The warmest time of the year at Lago Guayabal arrives with high temperatures in the 90's while nighttime lows are frequently in the 60's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are usually in the 80's, and overnight lows at Lago Guayabal throughout the winter mostly fall into the 50's.

Take a hike on the Vereda Alcantarilla, and do have a look at Represa De Toa Vaca since you're here. A nice spot in the neighborhood of Lago Guayabal is Quebrada Chorrera, and get your pulse rate up on the splendid whitewater of Areciebo River.
