Woodpecker Lake really is in the middle of a gorgeous outdoors paradise. After a long day outdoors RPAMI - Red Carpet Inn Milford is a tremendous site to spend a night or two, and some close by water includes Nichecronk Brook. This lake is so wonderful. There are swamps here too; Dark Swamp is close by, and close by you find the Maple Brook Trail which is a good hiking trail. Beaver Pond is a splendid lake in the vicinity of Woodpecker Lake; get your heart pumping on the good whitewater of Raymondskill Creek. This lake is so wonderful. A good spot to camp here at Woodpecker Lake is Dingmans Campground, and don't leave Woodpecker Lake without first paying a visit to Deer Leap Falls.
