If you are in Monroe county it's always a good idea to stop by Witmers Lake. Visiting Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor is just something you need to do if you haven't yet, and Witmers Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Pocono Vacation Park Campground is a great local campground. There's so much to do here at Witmers Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Arrowhead Campground is a great place for that, and close by you come across

| | the Camelback Trail which is a delightful hiking trail. While you're here at Witmers Lake, you could also visit gorgeous Lake Watawah, and there is a tremendous hiking trail nearby called the Indian Trail.

Lake is Witmer Dam. This lake is so wonderful. Near Witmers Lake you discover Wind Gap which is a great spot to explore, and if you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Pocono Creek.
The high level
of rain makes Witmers Lake a pretty wet place; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is February. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Camelback, and whitewater paddling is good on Martins Creek.
