Why not stop by Windber Reservoir if you're passing through these parts. Windber Reservoir is great enough to spend more than a day at, Pine Oaks Camp Ground is a great local campground; some of the water nearby flows, like Beaverdam Run. Have a great hiking adventure along the Old '56' Trail, and a glorious nearby hotel is Sleep Inn Johnstown. This lake is so wonderful. Clear Shade Creek has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot close by, and Windber Reservoir

Paddling on Dark Shade Creek is so much fun. Through the warm months at Windber Reservoir highs are generally in the 70's. Summer night lows sink down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Windber Reservoir dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. Man, is there a lot of amusing things to do next to Windber Reservoir. There's so much to do here at Windber Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Shawnee Sleepy Hollow Campground is a perfect
place for that; if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the John P Saylor Trail. A typical amount of rainfall falls here at Windber Reservoir; during the month of June you get the most rain around here, and October meanwhile is the driest month.
