This lake is so wonderful. Newton Run is one of the streams nearby that might be worth checking out, and there's nice hiking along the Bald Barren Trail. If you came to camp Fox wood Family Campground is a pleasant location to do that; get wet paddling on Bush Kill Creek. There's so much to do here at White Heron Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Otter Lake Camp-resort is a tremendous place for that; what       would winter be without some skiing at Shawnee Mountain. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Alpine Mountain while you're here, and don't leave White Heron Lake without first going for a hike along the Kinney Trail. Now, you may assume that's loads but there's even more fun stuff to do here at White Heron Lake. There are plenty of folks from East Stroudsburg here at White Heron Lake; a pleasant close by hotel is Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort.                  Lakes are such calm places, why not visit Marshall Lake in close proximity to White Heron Lake, and Country Club of the Poconos at Big Ridge is a perfect golf course nearby. Marshall Falls is a beautiful place to have a look at while you're at White Heron Lake, and a gorgeous lake like Pocono Highlands Lake is a good location to explore. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. If you need a site to stay Shawnee Village Resort is a glorious choice, and you can go for a hike on the Smith Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from White Heron Lake you acquire some delightful water scenery at White Heron Dam, and whitewater paddling is great on Brodhead Creek. Delaware National Scenic River is one of the destinations close to White Heron Lake that are pleasant to go to. White Heron Lake is a pretty wet place mostly with much rainfall; most of the rain falls during May, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Summer brings highs in the 80's to White Heron Lake. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's.
