You'll come across a pretty lake called Marshall Lake near White Heron Lake, and during your tour here you'll meet some people from East Stroudsburg for sure. Gotta ski! Shawnee Mountain is a nice site to do that, and if you're a golfer then a good nearby course is Country Club of the Poconos at Big Ridge. This lake is so wonderful. Very       wonderful scenery and delightful skiing is what you get at Alpine Mountain; Caesars Pocono Palace is a pleasant spot to get some rest. All our national parks are great locations to pop by, and Delaware National Scenic River is no exception. There are some pleasant whitewater spots on Bush Kill Creek; you can have a nice hiking adventure along the Smith Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Otter Lake Camp-resort if you're here at White Heron                  Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Shawnee Village Resort. Lots of precipitation falls at White Heron Lake; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain while February is regularly the driest month. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Brodhead Creek, and do take a look at Pocono Highlands Lake, it's a stunning lake. And if that's not enough, there's lots more to do in the neighborhood of White Heron Lake. Fox wood Family Campground is a perfect local campground, and if the weather is pleasant, you can go for a hike along the Bald Barren Trail. If only every place had this much outdoors fun things, what a great world it would be. Going for a hike along the Kinney Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region; there's some interesting stuff to catch a glimpse of at White Heron Dam close to White Heron Lake. Summertime highs at White Heron Lake mostly tend to be in the 80's; the overnight is rather colder of course, commonly in the 50's.
