Tyrone Reservoir is always a pleasure to visit. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn Altoona, needless to say you could also take a look at Tyrone Reservoir Number One while you're here; it's not far at all. If you need a location to stay Econo Lodge Altoona is a tremendous choice, and since you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Altoona. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Camp Blue Diamond while you're here at Tyrone Reservoir, and Cold Spring is a pretty spot to stop by while you're at Tyrone Reservoir. Tyrone Reservoir. Circle B Campground is a glorious local campground, and Tyrone Dam Number One is an interesting thing to check out. Hiking along the Indian Trail is delightful fun. A lake close by is Tyrone Reservoir Number Two;
since you're here you can take a hike along the Colerain Trail.
Get wet paddling on Clearfield Creek; going for a hike along the Rainbow Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region.

I stayed on the first night of the 2006 operating season (as advertised) and was really impressed. The campground, bath houses, and laundry facilities were very clean and modern. I was travelling in a 37' Class A and had site #1. The outer sites look to be the best for larger rigs - even though the pull throughs are in the middle, several large trees look like they would make it difficult to get a good postion on the site. No real activities, but a nice quiet place that is close to downtown Altoona and it's activities. Would definately stay again the next time we're in town.... |
