If you are in Blair county it's always a good idea to stop by Tipton Reservoir. After a long day outdoors Quality Inn Altoona is a wonderful spot to spend a night or two; on a good day you can take a hike along the Indian Trail. A common amount of precipitation falls here at Tipton Reservoir; through June this area sees the most rain, and January is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Throughout the summer at Tipton Reservoir highs are regularly in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Tipton Reservoir. lake is so wonderful. Tipton Reservoir is great enough to spend more than a day at, Zimmie's Campground is a great local campground. If you came to camp Wright's Orchard Station Campground is a great place to do that, and nearby you
hit upon the Slide Hollow Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail. A great nearby hotel is Hampton Inn Altoona, and the Rainbow Trail is a good hiking trail close by.
