     Paddling on Scrubgrass Creek is so much fun, and if you came for an overnight stay Buttercup Campground is a great location to camp. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such calm places, why not stop at Thorn Reservoir close to Thorn Run Reservoir; it's a delightful idea to check out Bonnie Brook. The warmest time of the year at Thorn Run Reservoir comes with high temperatures in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's.  
   Through the wintertime highs are usually in the 30's, and overnight lows during the wintertime for Thorn Run Reservoir tend to be in the 10's. Whitewater paddling is good on Bear Creek - Allegheny River Tributary, and a gorgeous lake like Lake Oneida is a good location to go to.
Just can't get enough of Thorn Run Reservoir. Smith Grove Camp Grounds is a perfect campground nearby, and a round of golf at nearby Lake Arthur Country Club is a splendid way to kill
 
               some time. Fairfield Inn & Suites Butler is a perfect place to get some rest. From a rain point of view Thorn Run Reservoir is a pretty typical place; all through the month of June you get the most rain around here; the driest month of the year is February.
Dry warm beds await you at Days Inn Butler Conference Center, and Thorn Run Dam is a scenic place.
