If you are in Pike county it's always a good idea to stop by Sunrise Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Maple Brook Trail, and Wild Meadows is a charming site any time of year. If you haven’t been to Delaware National Scenic River, you should schedule some time for it while you're here, and if you like swamps you're in luck, Bear Rock Swamp is right close by. During the long summer days at Sunrise Lake highs are commonly

Highs during the winter are mostly in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Sunrise Lake temperatures dip to the 10's. A pretty lake like Gold Key Lake in close proximity to Sunrise Lake is a good place to stop at, and if you need a place to stay RPAMI - Red Carpet Inn Milford is a great choice. Sunrise Lake is right by the Bald Hill Trail, and from Sunrise | |

Lake you get a wonderful vista of Bald Hill. Some close by water includes Gin Brook, and Scottish Inns Milford is a glorious place to get some rest. A common amount of rain falls here at Sunrise Lake; the wettest month of the
year is frequently May, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is February. And if you're still looking for more outdoors enjoyable things just keep reading. Camping at Dingmans Campground is always a
good experience, and skiing at Tanglwood is one of those things you just should do. Whohoo, so much enjoyable stuff in one place! Sunrise Lake rules! Shohola Creek has a perfect whitewater paddling spot nearby, and you can never get
enough of the tremendous skiing at Shawnee Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is wonderful on Hornbeck's Creek; do take a hike on the Flat Ridge Trail. Sunrise Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day
at, Lake Adventure Community Assoc is a fine local campground, and do stop by Log Tavern Pond, it's a pretty lake.

Shohola Creek
 | Raft??? First off, I cant see raft going through box canyon. It might be possible, but I wouldn't want to see someone I care about be the first. After the box, downstream of the route 6 bridge, you would need a lot of rain, I mean an awful lot of rain to get through the flat water section. Personally, I do some tough runs (CL4+) and I'm not sure I'd wanna be there with that much water. With plenty of water, medium level, we were scraping a lot in the flat water section. Also, in the canyon, if someone gets hurt, they are in for a bad day. This is evident by looking at a typo map or looking down from route three bridge. ''outside the state you might find the rivers here are more forgiving''. My travel for White Water is limited: NY, NJ, MA, CT, WV, MD, VT, NC. Never been out west. With my limited experience the above states and PA and 5 years kayaking including winter, I have no clue what the above quote means. Ratings CL1-5 (6 being a rating meaning it might not be runable), while far from perfect is a pretty good indication of water difficulty. Don't paddle here unless you know wha... |

Wilsonville Recreation Area
 | 18 miles away Wilsonville is fun and enjoyable for you and your family. You can camp, boat, or fish. Everything is well maintained and enjoyable. Wilsonville has been enjoyable for the past five years that I 've been going there. I look to have another great year at Wilsonville again this year!...I found Wilsonville to be a nice family campground. The facilities are well maintained, and they offer both wooded and camper sights. They even have some walk-in sights near the lake. One of the best points is that they have launches and docks for boating on beautiful Lake Wallenpaupack. We have gone for the past 2 years and plan on doing so again this year.... |
