Gulf Brook flows through this area, and there's whitewater on Elk Creek for all you adrenaline kick people. The amount of precipitation that falls at Sunfish Pond is close to the national average; June is when you get the most rain here, and January is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. There are some glorious whitewater spots on Schrader Creek, and Comfort Inn Towanda is a fine site to get some       rest. Buttermilk Falls Campground is a good local campground, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at close by Mud Pond. Armenia Mountain Campground is a magnificent campground nearby, and if the weather is delightful, you can go for a hike along the Hoagland Trail.
