Red Oaks Lakes is a nearby lake that you could stop by, and if the weather is brilliant, you can go for a hike along the Tarkiln Trail. High temperatures at Sportsmans Lake throughout the warmest time of the year are in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. The wintertime       brings highs down to the 30's while the cold winter nights at Sportsmans Lake are in the 10's. The yearly rainfall here at Sportsmans Lake is about average; the wettest month of the year is usually June, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is October. A short visit to Black Spring is always worthwhile, and dry warm beds await you at Fairfield Inn & Suites Bedford. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Town Creek right next door to Sportsmans Lake, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Garlick Trail. There's so much to do here at Sportsmans Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Choice Camping Court is a perfect place for that, and Bedford Springs Resort is a perfect site to get some rest.
