Lake Henry Dam is not far at all from Spangenberg Lake, and there's pleasant hiking along the Boundary Trail. For the period of the warm months at Spangenberg Lake highs are commonly in the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in       the 20's; night lows in the 10's for Spangenberg Lake. Spangenberg Lake gets a lot of water; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. Lake Henry is a nearby lake that you could have a look at, and while you're here, you could also take a look at gorgeous Half Moon Lake. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Elk Mountain, and the Refuge Trail offers hiking                  at its best. If you want a pleasant time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Spangenberg Lake. After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn SCRANTON-EAST (DUNMORE) is a delightful place to spend a night or two, and if you come at the right time of year, Wallenpaupack Creek offers some great whitewater. Good hiking is available along the Lakeside Trail; get yourself into a kayak and hit Middle Creek - Lackawaxen Tributary. This lake is so wonderful.
