South Pond is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. If the weather is gorgeous, you acquire a wonderful view of Wilkes-Barre Mountain from South Pond; the Choke Creek Trail is a fine hiking trail close by. This lake is so wonderful. Harveys Creek has a magnificent whitewater paddling spot close by, and if you need a place to stay Econo Lodge Wilkes-Barre is a good choice. What a site this is for outdoors people.
