Celestial Lake is close by, and do take a hike on the Rock Run Trail. But wait, there's more to do in close proximity to Sones Pond. Stay the night at Rocky Valley Campground, and Pole Hill is a peak you can observe from Sones Pond. The nice people of Sayre like to hang out nearby. You're probably keen on lakes, Mokoma Lake is one of those close by, and hiking along the Irish Settlement Trail is magnificent       fun. There are some great whitewater spots on Little Loyalsock Creek, and Pioneer Campground is a great campground nearby. Sones Pond is a good location of common precipitation; the month with most of the rain is June while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Looking for some flowing water? Try Bear Run; going for a hike along the Big Timber Spur will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. This lake is so wonderful. You                  don’t have to go far from Sones Pond to observe the water at Sones Pond Dam, and close by Haystacks is a brilliant place to go. Through the long summer days highs here at Sones Pond get into the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. Highs all through the wintertime are typically in the 30's with temperatures at Sones Pond dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. This lake is so wonderful.
