In Pennsylvania there are many beautiful lakes, Smith Reservoir is one of them. John C Smith Dam has brilliant water scenery and it's in close proximity to Smith Reservoir, and if you need a location to stay Quality Inn Bedford is a magnificent choice. This lake is so wonderful. Everybody close by loves skiing at Blue Knob; a round of golf at nearby Bedford Elks Lodge 1707 Golf Course is a splendid way to kill some time. Why not take a refreshing hike along
the Cabin Trail, and not far from Smith Reservoir you'll come across John C Smith Reservoir which is a picturesque lake.
At Smith Reservoir throughout the long summer days highs are in the 70's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Throughout the winter the highs are generally in the 30's while Smith Reservoir nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's. The annual precipitation here at Smith Reservoir is about average; June

is the wettest month with most rain, and October meanwhile is the driest month. Some of the water close by flows, like Cumberland Valley Run.
Life's too short to enjoy all the fun stuff next to Smith Reservoir. There are other places here than Smith Reservoir, for example Todd Spring Reservoir, and there's nice hiking along the Reservoir Trail. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Bedford Inn; if you come at the right time of year, Town Creek offers some great whitewater. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Bobs Creek. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Smith Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Friendship Village.
This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Smith Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Bethel Park Campgrounds is a great location for that, and the Garlick Trail offers hiking at its best.

Drive a another mile until you cross the rail tracks and make a quick left down a dirt rd that follows the rail track. Follow 200yrd until you reach the train observation deck and park here. Cross the tracks and look at the wounderful 3 shelf drop. If you would like to run it, head right down throught trail above fall. Start river right and work to left as you exit last shelf. watch the nice keeper and the bottem left at very high water....
Water between fairhope and hyndman is full of bolders and water depths drop a lot in summer months. i advice that rafting should be done in the spring....
