Nearby lakes? Sure, Cord Pond is in close proximity to Shibley Pond, and after a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Clarks Summit is a brilliant location to spend a night or two. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a pleasant time here at Shibley Pond. On a wonderful day you can take a look at Phelps Swamp, a swamp in the vicinity of Shibley Pond,       and Meshoppen Creek has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. You don’t have to go far from Shibley Pond to distinguish the water at Saddle Lake Dam, and camping at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Tunkhannock is always a great experience. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Shibley Pond, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 20's while Shibley Pond nighttime                  low temperatures during the winter are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. The top of Dam Hill is easily distinguished from Shibley Pond; if you're popping by from Scranton—Wilkes-Barre, you won't be the only one. A normal amount of rain falls here at Shibley Pond; throughout June this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is January. Very pretty scenery and glorious skiing is what you get at Montage Mountain, and paddling on Bowman Creek is so much fun. If you need a site to stay Hampton Inn Clarks SummitScranton is a good choice, and let's not forget Horton Creek which is a stream that you may encounter while here. This is a nice neighborhood for people who like lakes.
