If you want a fine time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Sandy Run Reservoir. A lake close by is Glendale Lake; if you need a spot to stay Hampton Inn Altoona is a fine choice. High temperatures at Sandy Run Reservoir during the months of summer are in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 30's while Sandy Run       Reservoir nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's. Sandy Run Reservoir gets a typical amount of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is July, and the driest month of the year is February. Very great water scenery is available at Sandy Run Dam near Sandy Run Reservoir; camping at Zimmie's Campground is always a great experience. There are plenty of folks from Altoona here at Sandy Run Reservoir; camping is available at Wright's                  Orchard Station Campground. You can never get enough of the pleasant skiing at Blue Knob. If you come at the right time of year, Chest Creek offers some great whitewater; some of the water close by flows, like Powell Run. This lake is so wonderful.
