   time here at Sandy Lake. You're sure to come across some cheerful folks from Meadville here, and get your heart pumping on the magnificent whitewater of South Sandy Creek. This lake is so wonderful. A delightful site for whitewater paddling in the neighborhood of Sandy Lake is Scrubgrass Creek, and not far from Sandy Lake you'll discover Pa-474 Reservoir which is a charming lake. The high level of precipitation makes Sandy Lake a relatively wet spot; the wettest  
               month of the year is frequently August, that's the one that rains the most while February is commonly the driest month.

During the summer months here at Sandy Lake, high temperatures generally get into the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. I used to live off the creek. My grandfather had a home 'Tomahawk' just below the bridge. I canoed this creek many times as a child. And unless the creek has become more 'violent' rafting is not difficult. It takes some know how, but not an expert. It's great fun. We did it in a canoe, rafting should be a breeze....
