A fine location to camp here at Sand Spring Lake is Kampgrounds Amer Allentown, and a lake close by is Synder Pond. Summertime at Sand Spring Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's, and through       the dark hours in the winter at Sand Spring Lake temperatures plunge to the 10's. Paddling on Lizard Creek is so much fun; camping is available at Bake Oven Campground. Sand Spring Lake is a wet site that gets lots of rainfall; during the month of May you get the most rain around here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Man, is there loads of cool things to do near Sand Spring Lake. Sand Spring Run Dam is not far at all from                  Sand Spring Lake, and if you need a site to stay Hampton Inn Lehighton is a brilliant choice. While you're here at Sand Spring Lake you can take a hike along the Boulder Field Trail, and get dripping wet paddling on Lehigh River. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. Bear Creek is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood, and the summit of Bull Head can be seen from Sand Spring Lake. Olde Homestead Golf Club is a golf course in the neighborhood of Sand Spring Lake, and Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor is a wonderful national park. This lake is so wonderful. During your journey to Sand Spring Lake you'll meet some folks from Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton for sure; dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Kutztown Allentown. This lake is so wonderful.
