If you are in Somerset county it's always a good idea to stop by Pine Lake. If you need a site to stay Sleep Inn Johnstown is a good choice, and get your heart pumping on the fine whitewater of Dark Shade Creek. This lake is so wonderful. The Wolf Rocks Trail is a fine hiking trail in the vicinity of Pine Lake; a lake nearby is Beaverdale Reservoir. Pine Lake is Shawnee Sleepy Hollow Campground. Pine Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Blue Knob State Park is a great local campground, and after a long day outdoors SUPER 8 MOTEL - JOHNSTOWN is a nice location to
spend a night or two.
This lake is so wonderful. Blue Knob is a very popular ski area close at hand. The high level of rain makes Pine Lake a pretty wet place; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain while
October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. If the weather is nice here at Pine Lake, you can go for a hike along the John P Saylor Trail; the trees of Babcock State Forest are a great source of shade on hot summer days.
