The snow is tremendous at Blue Mountain; nice hiking is available along the Choke Creek Trail. A tour to Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor is worthwhile. Fern Ridge Campground is a good campground nearby, and Hideaway Hills Golf Club is a golf course nearby. Do stop by Wernetts Pond close to Penn Forest Reservoir, it's a pretty lake, and you can       go for a hike on the Boulder Field Trail. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting stuff right next door to Penn Forest Reservoir. After a long day outdoors Split Rock Resort is a great place to spend a night or two, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Lehigh River. Why not visit Penn Forest Dam if you're here, and a delightful close by hotel is Best Western Inn At Blakeslee Pocono. This lake is so wonderful. There are some good whitewater spots on Tunkhannock                  Creek, and there are plenty of folks from Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton here. All the water falling down from the sky makes Penn Forest Reservoir a wet place; August is the wettest month with most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. There's some flowing water nearby, Cross Run is a stream you can check out while here; here at Penn Forest Reservoir you can see Call Mountain. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Big Boulder; if you came for an overnight stay Don Laine Campground is a magnificent location to camp. The warmest time of the year at Penn Forest Reservoir comes with high temperatures in the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and night lows in the 10's for Penn Forest Reservoir. What a site this is for outdoors folks.
