There's so much to do here at Payne Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Meadow View Family Campground is a magnificent site for that. At Payne Pond throughout the warmest time of the year highs are in the 70's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. The       cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and night lows through the wintertime for Payne Pond tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Comfort Inn Clarks Summit is a glorious choice; one of the overriding features of the surroundings of Payne Pond is Tiffany Hill. Stay the night at East Lake Campground, and the snow is fine at Elk Mountain. Going for a hike along the Pinnacle Trail will let you absorb the                  natural beauty of this area, and a charming lake like Blanding Lake is a tremendous spot to explore. A good deal of rainfall falls at Payne Pond; most of the rain falls during June, and the driest month of the year is February. So much amusing stuff next to Payne Pond, completely unbelievable.
