Camping at Lander's River Trips is always a splendid experience, and Cobey Dam is not far at all from Panther Lake. This lake is so wonderful. There are some fine whitewater spots on Lackawaxen River, and some of the water close by flows, like Beach Lake Creek. All through the months of summer, highs generally       are in the 70's at Panther Lake while overnight lows are frequently in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows all through the winter for Panther Lake tend to be in the 0's. All the water falling down from the sky makes Panther Lake a wet spot; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is February. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing things                  at Panther Lake. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Panther Lake; Crawford Trail is a fine local trail; dry warm beds await you at The Lodge at Woodloch. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Delaware River, and there's glorious hiking along the Steam Mill Trail. Lakes? Sure, Cobey Pond is in the vicinity, and Panther Lake is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Trail's End Camp is a magnificent local campground. Swamps don’t sound that good but Cattail Swamp right next door to Panther Lake is pretty good, and Darbytown Falls is an inspiring place to check out while here. A tour to nearby Point Peter is very relaxing; picturesque scenery and great skiing is what you obtain at Ski Big Bear. If you want a tremendous time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Panther Lake.
