Opossum Lake gets a common amount of yearly precipitation; during May this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is February. Summertime highs at Opossum Lake usually tend to be in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 60's. Throughout the wintertime highs are usually in the 30's; through the dark hours in the winter at Opossum Lake temperatures dip to the 10's.       This lake is so wonderful. There's nice hiking along the Pine Plantation Trail, and why not take a little journey to Mount Rock Spring Creek since you're here. This is no place for people who don’t like to have a good time. You'll find a scenic lake called Mount Holly Springs Lake near Opossum Lake; the Maple Hollow Trail offers hiking at its best. A glorious close by hotel is Carlisle Super 8 Motel, and not far from Opossum Lake you obtain some delightful                  water scenery at Opossum Lake Dam. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Opossum Lake; Rock Skree Trail is a glorious local trail; if you're dropping by from Gettysburg, you won't be the only one. This lake is so wonderful. Cumberland Golf Club is a golf course in the vicinity of Opossum Lake, and Western Village RV Park is a brilliant campground nearby. A pretty lake like Mount Holly Springs Reservoir in close proximity to Opossum Lake is a good place to explore; if you need a place to stay Fairfield Inn & Suites Carlisle is a perfect choice.
