Why not camp at D and J Shady Rest Campsites since you're here at Octoraro Lake, and a good location for whitewater paddling is Octoraro Creek. During the warm months, highs commonly are in the 80's at Octoraro Lake, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. need a site to stay Best Western North East Inn is a glorious choice, and lakes are such calm locations, why not visit Rising Sun Community Pond.

Good place to train beginers but if they go out too far you may never see them again. Some of the campsites are located beside a creek or an unused Covered Bridge. There are tent spaces available on wooded sites.
There is fishing in the creek, with a license. There is also catch & release fishing in our 4 1/2 acre lake with out a license.
If the morning you can watch the sunrise over the lake and listen to the sounds of the farm animals starting a new day.
On any day you can watch the horse and buggy's travel up and down the back roads around the campground.
There is a game room with electronic games. On Saturday's there are crafts and board games for children, in the lodge. On sunny Saturday afternoons there is a wagon ride for children around the campground.
