The Sand Spring Trail is a good hiking trail near Number Three Reservoir, and do have a look at Park Place Lake, it's a picturesque lake. The amount of rain that falls at Number Three Reservoir is close to the national average; most of the rain falls all through June, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Candlewood Suites HAZLETON is a good place to get some rest. All through the months of summer highs here at Number Three Reservoir get into the 80's while

This lake is so wonderful. Near Number Three Reservoir you discover the Appalachian National Scenic Trail which is a great hiking trail, and since you're here, you could also go to beautiful Reservoir Number Two. you stumble on a golf course called Mountain Valley Golf Course, and if you came for an overnight stay Rosemount Camping Resort is a great site to camp. Here at Number Three Reservoir you'll probably meet some folks from Pottsville,
and hey, Gotta ski right? Blue Marsh is a brilliant site to do that. If the weather is great here at Number Three Reservoir, you can go for a hike along the Yellick Path, and a good location for whitewater paddling is Nescopeck
Creek. And that's not all you can do here at Number Three Reservoir. Camping is available at Red Ridge Lake Campground, and a good nearby hotel is Residence Inn Hazleton. Why not check out Park Place Dam Number Three if you're here; you can run the rapids of Black Creek.

Stairway Lake
 | 12 miles away Not to differ from the obscure description given on the site, but Stairway Lake, or the Landingville Dam isn't quite the picture painted by that description. Well...Blue Marsh Ski is a cool half-hour away, you can about jump across Mahannon Creek, Mountain Springs is on the other side of the...mountain. But for real, the Landingville Dam is a decent place for water skiing and bass fishing. It is a superb location for crappie fishing and bird watching. The spillway is a great place for pickerel fishing and the emptying Schuylkill River is a wonderful run on a kayak or canoe. Take 'natural area' and 'desilting basin' with a grain of salt, as this dam is both. Natural enough to see a bald eagle, yet enough of a basin to see hundreds of plastic bottles strewn on the shores. Reasons to come to Landingille: carp, jet skis, foilage, isolation. Reasons not to: total lack of civilization, middle of nowhere, water pollution, isolation.... |
