Yellow Creek Camp Ground is a great local campground, and there is a good hiking trail close by called the Laurel Highlands Trail. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Johnstown-Dwtn, Pa, and there are glorious spots to look at along the Roger Mountain Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Hit the slopes at The Springs at Laurel Mountain around here; going for a hike on       the Clark Run Trail is always a splendid adventure. Summer brings highs in the 80's to New Florence Reservoir. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows through the winter for New Florence Reservoir tend to be in the 10's. Conemaugh River has a splendid whitewater paddling spot nearby, and why not camp at Mirror Lake Resort since you're here at New Florence Reservoir. Do take                  a look at Sugar Run Reservoir in the vicinity of New Florence Reservoir, it's a delightful lake, and paddling on Tubmill Creek is so much fun. The high level of rain makes New Florence Reservoir a rather wet spot; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is February. The good folks of Indiana like to hang out nearby.
