People from Scranton—Wilkes-Barre love to come to Mud Pond. There's so much to do here at Mud Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Sandy Valley Campground is a good site for that. This lake is so wonderful. There's always Mountain Lake Dam to visit near Mud Pond, and going for a hike on the Choke Creek Trail is always a splendid adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Boulder Field Trail, and       Mud Run Creek is in close proximity to Mud Pond and is always a joy to check out. Playing golf is lots of fun at Wilkes Barre Golf Club, and Montage Mountain is a very popular ski area around here. An average amount of precipitation falls at Mud Pond; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is January. If you fancy the outdoors, you'll adore Mud Pond. Hit the slopes at Jack Frost in the vicinity. Throughout the                  summer months here at Mud Pond, high temperatures generally reach the 70's with night lows in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Mud Pond temperatures descend to the 10's. Near Mud Pond you find the Refuge Trail which is a great hiking trail, and there are some glorious whitewater spots on Bear Creek. This is no location for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. A wonderful lake like Meadow Run Ponds right next door to Mud Pond is a perfect place to explore, and there's whitewater on Spring Brook for all you adrenaline junkies.
