Really great skiing awaits you at Elk Mountain, and there is a magnificent hiking trail close by called the Refuge Trail. For the duration of the summer highs here at Mud Pond get into the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Throughout the wintertime highs are generally in the 20's with temperatures at Mud Pond dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend

If you need a location to stay Comfort Inn Clarks Summit is a good choice, and Montage Mountain has tremendous slopes and a friendly staff. If you fancy the outdoors, you'll have a thing about Mud Pond. that's the one that rains the most while February is ordinarily the driest month. The view of picturesque Bull Hill near Mud Pond is fine. Get your pulse rate up on the good whitewater of Spring Brook, and do go to Handsome Pond,
it's a beautiful lake. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Mud Pond you can play some golf at Lakeland Golf Club, and Mud Pond is a good site to visit for more than one day, How Kola Camp is a good site to camp nearby.
