For the duration of the summer highs here at Mud Pond get into the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Throughout the wintertime highs are generally in the 20's with temperatures at Mud Pond dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend       Lackawanna River, and the Pinnacle Trail is a great hiking trail close by. If you need a location to stay Comfort Inn Clarks Summit is a good choice, and Montage Mountain has tremendous slopes and a friendly staff. If you fancy the outdoors, you'll have a thing about Mud Pond. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Mud Pond has to offer, you can camp at Sunrise Lake Family Campgrnds, and Duck Pond is a nearby lake that you could stop by. A wonderful                  nearby hotel is Hampton Inn Clarks SummitScranton, and during your visit here you'll meet some people from Scranton—Wilkes-Barre for sure. Mud Pond sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is typically June, that's the one that rains the most while February is ordinarily the driest month. The view of picturesque Bull Hill near Mud Pond is fine. Get your pulse rate up on the good whitewater of Spring Brook, and do go to Handsome Pond, it's a beautiful lake. This lake is so wonderful.
