For the period of the long summer days at Mountain Shadow Lake temperatures are frequently in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Mountain Shadow Lake drop into the 10's. Get your heart beating on the pleasant whitewater of Black Creek, and close by you find the Yellick       Path which is a nice hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Nescopeck Creek, and Mountain Shadow Lake is a glorious place to camp, Christmas Pines Camp Ground is a glorious place. Mountain Shadow Lake Dam is scenic and it's in the neighborhood of Mountain Shadow Lake; lots of people from Pottsville come here. Just can't get enough of Mountain Shadow Lake. Rodeway Inn Frackville                  is a good place to get some rest, and going for a hike on the Werts Path is always a brilliant adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Red Ridge Lake Campground is a tremendous campground here, and if you need a site to stay Econo Lodge Frackville is a great choice. A normal amount of precipitation falls here at Mountain Shadow Lake; during the month of June you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is February. Getting to Lost Creek from Mountain Shadow Lake is uncomplicated; there are wonderful spots to look at along the Foxs Path.
