Lake Minisink

In the 1950s and 1960s WW2 veterans bought or built small cabins around Lake Minisink. They rented the land, but there was no public water or sewers. Very rustic. No motor boats were permitted on this natural  lake.  Good, cheap, and fun for young families. We loved it. Says Karen Demario

4 feet of great snow fall per season on the 700-foot elevation difference of Shawnee Mountain, the close by ski resort. Shawnee Mountain has 23 slopes and 9 ski lifts.
Having 25% of the slopes being black and red, and 75% of the 125 acres of skiing area being intermediate or beginner; there are wonderful slopes for any ability at Shawnee Mountain.
