There's so much to do here at McGowans Lake that       you need to camp here for a while, Benner's Meadow Run Camping and Cabins is a splendid spot for that, and there's pleasant hiking along the Mile Trail. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at McGowans Lake. There's some flowing water nearby, Elk Rock Run is a stream you can check out while you're here; get your heart beating on the fine whitewater of Indian Creek. McGowans Lake is a good place of normal rain; the month with most of the rain                  is July, and the driest month of the year is February.
